The Countdown to 2012: Part 2 – Nuclear War: All This Has Happened Before. And All Of It Will Happen Again.

In light of the nuclear disaster that is continuing to unfold in Japan, and the threat of nuclear war erupting in the Middle East (coming to a theatre near you this September! Brought to you by IsraelIran productions), I thought that we could explore the unknown history of nuclear energy and nuclear war. No, I’m not talking about the Cold War, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, WWII or anything that you have ever heard of so hold on to your hats and hope that the tinfoil is strong enough to withstand this gale!

Let’s start in Africa. In 1956, the French discovered uranium in a remote region of the now Gabon Republic and began mining it (Oklo mine). In 1972 when the uranium ore was introduced into a French gaseous diffusion plant, it was discovered that the uranium was depleted well below that of ordinary natural uranium… meaning that the uranium had already been used! With further investigation, French scientists found traces of fission products and fuel wastes at various locations within the mine area leaving them confused as natural uranium cannot go critical except under certain circumstances such as the presence of graphite or heavy water as a moderator, neither of which could reasonably be expected to have been present. Due to the half-life of U-235 (the most abundant isotope of natural uranium) being 700 million years, the used uranium wouldn’t have been concentrated enough to be used anything earlier than 2 BILLION YEARS AGO!! And it ran for a few hundred thousand years averaging 100kW of power during that time. This ancient reactor was several miles long and due to the geological surroundings, the radioactive wastes have still not migrated outside the mine site.

(side note: it was recently discovered that our sun has been emitting new unknown particles that affect rate of discomposure of all materials on earth so the 2 billion year old estimate may be a little off. If the rate of decay can change, and the rate of decay of uranium is a well used method of determining age, our estimates on the length of Earth’s and humanity’s existence may be drastically incorrect).

Yes, anyone who’s seen the Ancient Aliens TV series documentary on the History channel  might be jumping to a conclusion that many may fabricate… that this was a nuclear reactor used by ancient inhabitants or visitors of our little rock called Earth. But the scientists have decided that this was a natural occurring nuclear fission reactor. I guess that makes sense too. Except for the fact that this is the only naturally forming nuclear reactor on Earth (and of course ignoring the lack of evidence of hard water and graphite). Neither theory has much backing it up so it is almost left to the imagination (or, more accurately, lack of) to decide which theory works best. But let’s take another look in our history to see if we can’t find any other evidence of possible nuclear events before making our final decision.

Ancient Indian religious texts are filled with stories of flying vehicles (vimanas … chariots) battling in the sky with unimaginable weapons that could level the land and decimate entire armies, causing crowds of warriors with steeds and elephants to be carried away as if they were the dry leaves of tress. These same texts come with ancient words for the measurements of light-years (the distance that light travels in one year) and for the length of an atom. Both terms should not have even been a concept at that time, or so says our all-knowing history text books. The stories describe weapons that can only be compared to that of a nuclear explosion:

“a single projectile charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame As bright as the thousand suns Rose in all its splendour… a perpendicular explosion with its billowing smoke clouds… …the cloud of smoke rising after its first explosion formed into expanding round circles like the opening of giant parasols… ..it was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes The entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas. …The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. The hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, And the birds turned white. After a few hours All foodstuffs were infected… …to escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment.”

None of this made sense until the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagaski, and in retrospect, the Indian tales very accurately describe the result of a nuclear explosion.  When the location where the stories are to be taken place at was excavated, skeletons thousands of years old were discovered lying in the streets flattened to the ground with no signs of physical harm, some even holding hands, as if a doom had come so suddenly that they could not get to their homes. Why had no animals tried to eat or disturb their remains? Maybe because when excavated, the skeletons were some of the most radioactive remains ever found, on par with those from Hiroshima and Nagaski. Other cities in northern India were found with indications of massive explosion where huge masses of walls and foundations were fused together seeming to have been subjected to immense heat.  A heavy layer of radioactive dust covering a three square mile area near Rajasthan, India was found after researching a very high rate of birth defects and cancer from that area. That region has now been cordoned by the Indian government. Scientists have also unearthed an ancient city where evidence shows an atomic blast dating back 8,000 to 12,000 years that destroyed a probable half-million people, estimating the size of the bomb to be comparable to that of the ones dropped on Japan in 1945. And then there is 2,154 meter diameter Lonar crater aged at 50,000 years old that has no trace of any meteoric material (world’s only known “impact” crater in basalt) but traces of great shock (from a pressure exceeding 600,000 atmospheres ) and immense heat (indicated by basalt glass spherules).

Tales of such devastation are not only in the ancient Hindu texts, but also in a book a little more familiar to all of you… The Bible. Ever hear of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah?

“Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.” (Genesis 19:24-25)

Sodom_It Has All_Edit

Many have claimed that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by nuclear explosions. The cities are believed to lie in the nowadays Dead Sea. Where these cities are believed to be located, evidence of intense heat creating glass as well as the by-product of burning limestone and sulfur.

And now let’s jump over to Libya where pieces of desert glass have been found over an oval area measuring approximately 130km by 53km. The pieces weighed up to 16 lbs each. Scientists investigating this phenomenon have been satisfied with the idea that a meteor impact is responsible for the formation of the glass, but there has never been a crater or meteor fragments discovered. Could this maybe have been caused by an ancient nuclear explosion?

When contemplating the possibilities of ancient nuclear technology, one must ask “Wouldn’t there be some sort of physical proof that could be unearthed? Shouldn’t there be remains of metal reactors? Wouldn’t one of the flying vehicles mentioned in the Hindu texts have been shot down (yes, they fought in the air much like the dogfights of modern day aerial combat) and left something for us to discover? Over the thousands of years separating us and these supposed nuclear events, metals would corrode, organic materials would decay, wind and water would erode, and nature would once again reign supreme. If there were survivors, stories would be told that would be so fantastical that they would become myths. And there would be no substantial proof left except for radiation and nuclear waste. Both of which exist.

Earth Without People

When looking at the Mayan prophecies surrounding 2012, one will find that mankind has gone through cataclysmic events every 5000+ years. And that the 5000+ year cycle repeats itself 5 times. And this upcoming 2012 is the fifth of these cycles. Could it be possible that maybe at least one of those cataclysmic events was nuclear warfare? Could it be possible that we humans developed nuclear power many millennia ago? Could it be that we are following the same path that we have 5000 years ago? And 5000 years before that?

Pretty awesome piece of research. Food for thought, for sure>
