Welcome to The Happiness Hub of 海角乱伦社区

EAS has made tremendous progress in bringing in various elements of Positive Education through out the transactional modes of its curriculum through its concerted efforts in developing character, grit and resilience skills of our children, keeping well-being of all at the core of every action.

What is Happiness?

According to Greater Good Magazine, most of us probably don鈥檛 believe we need a formal definition of happiness; we know it when we feel it, and we often use the term to describe a range of positive emotions, including joy, pride, contentment, and gratitude.

But to understand the causes and effects of happiness, researchers first need to define it. Many of them use the term interchangeably with 鈥渟ubjective well-being,鈥 which they measure by simply asking people to report how satisfied they feel with their own lives and how much positive and negative emotion they are experiencing. In her 2007 book The How of Happiness, positive psychology researcher Sonja Lyubomirsky elaborates, describing happiness as 鈥the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one鈥檚 life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile.鈥

This definition resonates with us at EAS. It captures the fleeting positive emotions that come with happiness, along with a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life鈥攁nd suggests how these emotions and sense of meaning reinforce one another.

Positive Psychology

Since the 1990s, a whole branch of psychology鈥斺攈as been dedicated to pinning down what happiness is. More than simply positive mood, happiness is a state of well-being that encompasses living a good life, one with a sense of meaning and deep contentment.

Feeling joyful has its health perks as well. A growing body of research also suggests that聽聽feelings of positivity and fulfilment seem to benefit cardiovascular health, the immune system, inflammation levels, and blood pressure, among other things. Happiness has even been linked to a longer lifespan as well as a higher quality of life and well-being.

Attaining happiness is a global pursuit. Researchers find that people from every corner of the world rate happiness more important than other desirable personal outcomes. Health, safety, security, safeguarding and finally well-being, all lead to happiness.
